F-150 Light Issues
Today's the day for Ford lights to act up. I replaced the multi-function switch the other day and now I can't keep a fuse good for the brake lights. I've pulled the wheel off and looked for pinched wires and such. No sign of issues, taken apart the plug and inspected, no visible issues. ??? There's the brake light switch high on the brake pedal and another switch lower on the pedal closer to the floor, any idea what the lower connector is for??? I'm on the verge of using a metal clothes hanger instead of fuse then replace the melted wire!!!!! Any ideas??

See if there is a big plug at the bottom of the steering column that disconnects all the column wiring. If there is, unplug it, then see if the fuse blows. If it doesn't the problem is in the column.

thanxs dave for the quick response. I found the wildest, after pulling the steering wheel and making sure no shorts/pinched wires, I replaced the fuse. brake lights good, as soon as I put the steering wheel back, "pac", the fuse blew. I must be grounding ??? w/the wheel in place and not w/it off??
