Does anyone have any idea why oil would be pushing up and out the top of the dipstick tube? it's a 96 F-350 7.3L The only changes that have been made are a TS chip and an after market intake. the only thing that has been done to it recently was an oil change. Other than that it has ran fine until now. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm stumped.

Too much oil in the pan and a plugged CCV could do such a thing, I suppose. Can't think of much else.
Having the dipstick in backwards will do it! When your standing on the side of the passenger side fender looking at the motor, you should be able to read 'motor oil'. If the letters are facing the other way, the O ring in the top of the dip stick isn't making contact. Don't ask me why I know!! LOL

I second that. It happened to me in an International motor in a semi. I felt a little stumped when they told me (I was on the side of the road for two hours before the mechanic got to me) but at least I learned something. I filled the oil back up, put the dip stick in the right way and took off. I was sceptical at first and kept a close eye on oil temp gauge but it it was fixed. Good luck. I hope it's that simple for you too. Zoltan
Yeah, mine had oil leaking down the back of the head so I finally pulled off the VC. At the end of the VC it was dented allowing oil to leak out. I straighten that out and it stayed dry for about a week then started leaking again. What the hel!, then I discovered I had put the dip stick in backwards, LOL
