Thanks to all the great information here I tackled the blue spring mod, changed the fuel filters and added the thumb screw water drain plug and installed the fitting(s) to hook up a fuel pressure gauge.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Every thing came undone with minimal effort and thanks to the links found here for MasterTech videos I learned how to get the air filter assembly out and how to get the CAC tube back on.
Within the next few weeks I'll be doing a coolant system flush, switching to CAT1 ELC and installing a coolant filter.
Also on the list is changing the trans fluid. I have the new 08 pan and internal filter to install.
I guess I should put the 185A alternator on. It's been sitting on the shelf for about a year now.

is puzzles me why folks think this about the 6L.
As kids, my neighbors had (classic) stingrays and mustangs and chargers. They were always wrenching on something, swapping engines/trans, carb upgrades, exhaust upgrades, suspension tweaks, etc. and folks considered that cool and envied their ability to do that stuff.
When I can get 22 MPG on the highway with an excursion, wouldn't you be willing to get a little dirty to haul 6 folks and luggage at 22MPG from FL to NC?
