I have a 1965 Ford F100 4x4 and I'm going to put the old tried and true 750x16 tires on it. Their 31 inches tall and you should have no problem fitting them under your wheel wells. Only problem is finding the 16 inch rims with the 5 lug 5&1/2 inch circle. Dodge may interchange. Other than that, you have a mulitude of choices of after market rims and tires.
As far as what size tire you want you need to let us know how tall you want to go. What gear ratio does your truck have? Do you want the tire height to affect the final drive ratio? What width wheel do you have or are you also looking for wheels?
Tire selection will make you truck look really good or really bad, and make it drive really well or really bad.
Saw this in a magazine of a restored f100. Can you tell if these would fit without modifications?
Front wheel make, size American Racing TT II, 15x6
Rear wheel make, size American RacingTT II, 15x14
Front tire make, size Wide Track, 165R15
Rear tire make, size Mickey Thompson Sportsman, 31x18.5x15
try the search function this has been covered many times. or better yet grab a tape measure and check it out. just because someone online says it will fit, doesn't mean it will fit in YOUR truck. that being said... a 10 inch wide tire should fit, but it will be tight so the wheel back spacing has to be perfect (this is where the tape measure comes in handy)
Heres my setup,
'65 styleside, stock rearend with 9", 3.50 ratio.
Im running Cooper Cobra 275 65 15's on smoothie rims 10 inches wide with...i believe 24mm offset. Work great for me, but i have maybe a quarter-half inch before fender rub.
Hope this helps in some way.
But keep in mind, this is on a styleside.
i have run 15 inch 31x10.50 on front 33 x 11.50's on back but they rub when rear end and body are kind of torqued (like rougher terrain) but my personal preference in 265-75-16's they fit nice, tall, and wide and they don't rub even loaded on the front i use 245-75-16's
