Hey all, Just Installed a rebuilt Brake Booster(frame mount) on my 83' F-700, and the Instructions say to "Lubricate the Booster" with the Specified oil and amount, But did not see any info on it or where to add it to the Booster ?
Anyone that has some info on this would be helpful, thanks,,Mark
Thanks for the info, after reading more about them, some have the fill ports, some don't(mine does not have the plug) As I read the info the Boosters that need the oil (older units)have leather cup/diaphragm in them that need to stay supple.
Newer units have no plugs, need no lubricant for there rubber cup/diaphragm .
I can see rubber where the Booster bolts together but don't know if any leather is in side.
The info/direction sheet that came with the Booster showed separating the lower vacuum hose and squirting the 1-2 oz of oil in towards the Large Diaphragm, but did not specify what brand or type of oil to use., Mark
