I have an 08 super duty 6.4l with a six inch lift. The poping accurs when i go in and out of my driveway. Ive checked wheel bearing lift kit botls anything i could see i checked. I cant tell where it is comming from. Its a very sharp " pop-pop-pop" kinda thing. Any help or suggestions would bed great.
For some reason the auto door lock feature is not working now. Like when you drive off and hit 10-15 mph the doors auto lock. Mine stopped doing that. Did it once all random then hasent done it since. I searched and all i could find was issues with the main locking system. Which on my truck works perfect. Key fob and all buttons lock and un lock.
X2 on the BJs. With a lift you need to take a good look at the chassis. Specifically the frame to front axle mount points. Something could be broken. Secondly a ujoint may outwardly look good. You need to disassemble and actually feel and look at the joint. Could just be the front hub ujoints on their way out. The front drive shaft can do the same thing. Thats easy enough to pull and check the ujoints for smooth operation. If your visual of the chassis doesnt turn up anything then this is the direction I would go in. Do you know how to check for a loose BJ? The pop pop pop you describe is more indicative of a spinning shaft with a bad joint. A BJ will usually only pop once not consecutively unless your on a bumpy road.
Cant help much with the auto locks. I do have a 95 GC jeep that exhibited something similar. The brake pedal light switch controlled that feature as well as the put-your-foot-on-the-brake-to-allow-shifting-out-of-park-feature. I had to replace it because it was preventing the cruse from working and all the sudden these two features started working.
