1/19/14 Ride of the Week

This weeks ROTW goes to an old 1969 firetruck that was customized and converted into one heck of a beautiful truck.

FTE user ricevilian took this firetruck....

...put a Dodge bed on it....

...then added a set of "1969 Ford narrow box fenders" to the Dodge bed...

...painted it....

...then finished it off by extending the side skirt of the bed to match the cab.

Nicely done!

More pictures can be found in his gallery: 1969 Ford F550+ 4x2 - Ford N 500

Obviously, your not a fire buff. Did it have a pump and a booster tank
We owned a 55 Peter Pirsch open cab pumper. It had a 1000 gpm pump
and 35 years of history with the Waukesha Fire Dept. It stood tall and proud
whenever it was on the road or display.

I'm not sure who that question is directed at, but why does that matter?

Or was that more rhetorical and you're asking because you're saddened that a truck like that was modded and converted?

I would have restored it as an emergency vehicle fully equipped.
I owned a Peter Pirsch open cab pumper with a 1000 gpm pump, booster tank and all
of the equipment as it was in service. That's a truck with a purpose.

Our 55 Peter Pirsch

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...1&d=1516936170
Custom built from the ground up powered by a Waukesha gas 6 of 779 cid. Spicer 5 speed, ROSS cam & lever steering, Hale 1000 gpm pump
and there is someone out there that would make this into a flat bed or who knows what.
