THIS SUCKS!

So I'm on the way home from Autozone today and smoke starts coming from the heater vents. Within seconds the cab is completely filled with smoke. I pull over and hop out of the truck. Like 2 minutes later the truck is up in flames. THIS SUCKS!

Sorry for your loss man. That really does suck. But at least you can still go home tonight. Keep us posted about this. Like as to the cause and dealing with the insurance on the truck. That is if you have full or classic car insurance. If it's just liability then it gonna hurt even worse. You have my sympathy.

I'm not sure what caused the fire. It looks like it originated behind the dash. Most of the damage appears to have occurred from the firewall back. The part that really sucks is that I only have liability insurance on it.

If there's a bright side to this story. It's that the truck looks fixable. I'd recommend a new cab though. But do able. Again sorry for your loss here.

Totally sucks man sorry for your loss on this truck.
This should be a good reminder for everyone to carry a proper fire extinguisher.

Glad you made it out without a scratch. The truck may be toast but at least you aren't a crispy critter. Sorry it happened to you. This is one of the reasons I decided to scrap all my wiring and start fresh. To many things that can cause something like this to happen. My wires were horrible and the connections were sketchy at best. I was scared after a few sparks one day...

Sorry for your loss, at least you made it out ok and the truck is not a total total loss.

Sorry to hear liability only, that hurt even worse, but I have felt you pain, just not that bad.

Word to the FTE others, ALWAYS carry a fire ext. Walmart has them....yea might not of worked, but it also might of made the damage a lot less?

Insurance....what ya got, liability, full coverage or classic vehicle level insurance?

Protect your investment.

Once again doctorgoo, sorry, and try to hang in there.
