I have been lurking here for more than a year. I've gathered many ideas from here and am very thankful for the many miss-steps it has saved me from. I am 29 and have loved 76-79 Ford trucks since a buddy of mine got a f150 when he turned 16. My grandpa sold me his 1976 f250 2wd 5 years ago and its been downhill ever since. I am addicted and will freely admit to being a truck/parts hoarder. A year and a half ago I picked up a non-running 1977 f250 4x4 with a 400 c6 combo. My mechanic is just finishing rebuilding a 460 for me. It will hopefully be running next week. I'm learning as I go( mechanical novice), and rebuilding a motor on my soon to be DD was not an option for me. A year ago I picked up a 1979 f250 4x4 crewcab with a 400 t19 np205 combo. I am slowly going through the drive train. Once I get my shop built this truck will be the first one to get a frame off restoration. This one will get the 12valve cummins and nv5600 eventually. Not now of course! I'm Ford broke. I have a decent job, but it takes a lot of money to replace 30+ year old parts in THREE trucks. I'm not complaining! I'm planning a trip from WA to MN in May or June with the crewcab to pick up my grandpas tractor he used on the old farm place. Hopefully I can get everything I need replaced by then. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll have a question for you all eventually. Thanks again!
