Hpop lines

I am thinking about replacing my hpop hoses as preventative maintenance . Where are you guys buying them and are you replacing any other fittings? Thanks

HPOP

hey man I was wondering if you could look on your truck to see which lines go where, I took my off to service, but I can't remember where the lines go. or does it matter? From HPOP to heads, I think the closer outlet from the front of truck goes to passinger side, is that right?

It does not really matter. As long as they fit and don't rub anything.

same size, but someone else said it does not matter. it's not marked on the HPOP, left or right. but ****, I did not have a torque wrench, so I tighted the nut with the thick washer into the HPOP hard as I could, tried to start it to get remaining oil/fuel out of cylinders. (I put new o-rings on injectors). It cranked for the first time, then just spinning after that. so I checked the bolt with the thick washer and sure as ****, it came loose, guess I need torque wrench.

Wrench? Did you take the fittings off? The fittings are quick-connect.

Ron that is a good preventative maintenance issue to address. Now I myself when I installed my T500 I addressed ALL oring involved in the HPOP system. I take that back I did not replace the injector orings. But if you are going to replace the lines I would rebuild or replace the hpop line fittings, oil rail plug orings 4 on top of rail.
DieselOrings: HPOP Cylinder Head Quick Disconnect Hose Fitting Repair Kit 1999 - 2003 7.3L
1994 - 2003 Oil rail O-rings for the High Pressure oil rail ports in the engine valley
I also replaced the hpop oil galley end plug seals with the updated ones. It is rare that they leak but I feel as the years go by that you will see more and more of them leaking. My stock ones were very hard and brittle so I am glad I did. You could do the front 2 but if you decided to do these the back ones need the up pipes out. So just keep it in mind if you ever need to deal with your up pipes. Here is a photo of old design and the new 1 piece ones.

The easiest way to tell is look at the photos on RiffRaffs site and match your's up.

I've had both go at different times on my 01. Neither time was convenient. The 2nd one was a real hassle because it was just before a bridge, and I had a trailer on the back. At the least, if you have the older style braided stainless steel type, have a generic HP hydraulic oil line made up that will fit and put it behind the seat. Also, if you see your oil pressure gauge go to 0 suddenly, throw it into neutral quick. If you leave it in fear while it's rolling it will pump all your oil out, and then, even with a hose behind the seat, you're too low on oil to get it restarted.

The front one goes to the drivers side, and the back goes to passenger.

Change them now.. I got lucky and had one go out as soon as I started it in the driveway. But this is after I kept putting off replacing them.

I went to a International parts dealer to get them.
