Troubleshooting help
So Tuesday night I went to start my truck and it fired up like normal and after I put on my seat belt I noticed that the engine was off. I started the engine again and it started fine, went to high idle, and was falling back to normal idling until it got to 1K rpms when it dropped to around 500, maybe less, rpms and made a small noise that wasn't quite grinding, maybe rubbing. Felt like the engine was stalling before it went back up to 1K rpms and everything was fine, no more noise, and ran well. I turned the truck off and on a couple times and it did the same thing every time, but the truck only actually stalled the first time when I was putting my seat belt on. The next morning it started fine and did not do this but then did it later that afternoon. It has now been starting fine so far (Saturday), any thoughts on what this could be? I had the oil changed the day this started if that makes any difference, and I am planning on changing the spark plugs and fuel filter on Monday.
I had a similar problem, although truck never died. Did it especially when it was cold/damp out. Warmer months not so much. Replaced IAC and haven't had that issue since, going on 2 years.
Good luck and post back what you find.
