Question No idle!!! Help...

Vehicle in question: 2000 Expedition EB 5.4L w/99K miles.

It has done a couple of time in the past few months that it hasn't been idling too well after starting it first time in the morning. After giving it a little gas it has been fine. And it has only happened when starting first time in the morning.

I've been thinking that it must be all the moisture and rain we've had here in Texas lately and haven't really thought anything much about it.

Until today... It started fine the first time, but the next time my wife went to start it: no idle.

Normally it starts without touching the gas (as engine with fuel injection should), but now you have to give it gas while cranking to get it started. After you get it running you can ease the gas very slowly and it'll stay around 400rpms for a few seconds but then dies. If you keep your foot on the gas, it runs fine: no sputtering, no smoke etc. No SES light, either.

I replaced plugs, PCV and a couple of coilpacks about six months ago. Bought a fuel filter at the same time, but haven't replaced it yet. Could that be my problem? Any suggestions???

Thanks a bunch in advance, guys!!!

Sounds like the classic Idle Air Control (IAC) problem. Do a search (here and in the 97-04 F150 forum), you'll find lots of info.
