The pcv is in the passenger side valve cover about 1/2 way back.
Spray the inside of the Mass-Air meter with throttlebody cleaner.
IAC (Idle Air Control) is on the throttlebody. You can spray into the ports with TB cleaner as well if it is giving you an irratic idle.
The fuel filter should be on the drivers side of the frame under the front seat area I beleive.

Cleaning the PCM.......just pull the harnesses one by one and spray them out with some compressed air.
Mine get dirty as hell after a wheeling trip that is really dusty.
Yes it is the same thing. It is in the left 1/2 of the air cleaner. You can remove the EGR valve and check for build-up in the ports, if so, it can be cleaned with the same cleaner amd a small wire brush.
If it isn't, the trouble could be the DPFE sensor that monitors the EGR flow. Look down a few threads to read up on that one.
Jimmy
SO the EGR valve is between the air filter and the throttle body?
There are two sensors in the air path, and niether one looks like it could handle a wire brush. One is a part of a metal tube, and the other plugs through the plastic. They look like light bulb filaments. I sprayed them both with throttle body cleaner.
It still runs rough under slight power.
I can put it in gear with my foot on the brake and give it a little gas and it will start to miss and sputter. Holding the same amount of accelerator, it will sputter a while, then will click and run smooth, the go back to sputtering. It acts like the Air conditioner is kicking on and off causing th echange, but th eA/C is off.
Sorry for the confusion, only the Mass Air is between the TB and the air cleaner. The other is the Intake Air Temp sensor. The EGR valve is towards the rear of the engine I believe. Look at the exhaust manifolds towards the rear, there should be a tube running up to the top of the engine. It will go into the EGR valve. It should have a vacuum line going to it and a couple of wires. They are usually about 3" in diameter.
By the way, what year is your truck?
Jimmy
It's a 99 Conversion Van. I put the engine cover back on to do some errand running. I dont recall any 3" diameter hoses. Closest thing to that size is the exhaust.
Well I will tear it down again on Sunday and check for something that relates to a vaccum line with 2 wires.
The EGR Valve on my 98 F150 4.2 is under the front side of the intake manifold, right under the TB, passenger side. It has one 3/4" vaccum hose coming right off the top. Its about 3 inches in diameter. I was told to test the EGR, unplug the vaccum hose from it. Drive it around, or just throttle it, if it doesn't miss then the EGR is the culprit. It probably has some stuck ports, clean it out real good and put er back to together.
