option to buy 92 ford explore what do you think

I have an option to buy a ford explore Eddie Bauer edition.

V6 engine
272,000 miles
4X4
auto trans, they said the pump is going out on the transmission, they do have another transmission for replacement.
interior good shap.
asking price $1500.00

is this a good deal or for the scrape yard?

Hows the body? Brakes, transfer case, rear end? How about frame and underbody rust? If it's really clean and you like it I'd offer 750-1000 depending on condition. It has the better (IMO) of the two 4.0 V6s which is good.

Didnt say what year but unless its immaculate and they're changing out tranny I would pass. Lot of miles. Did you try explorer forum?

I haven't seen it yet, advertised on Grieg's list. wanted to ask before I drive to the other side of the island to see it

IMO thats alot of money for even more miles. Id pass just because of the amount of miles on it. But, thats just me, I dont like that many miles one bit.

What does IMO mean? your right it does have lot of miles. maybe to many miles, we live on the big island or towns are 50 miles apart one way. I put in 600 miles a week on my truck when I work, or top speed here is 55MPH on the lower road 50MPH on the upper road

"IMO" means "In My Opinion". If you can get it really cheap it would be cool to do it up like the ones in the original Jurassic Park
