I bought a n 09 f350 lariat a couple weeks ago, I was in such a hurry to get out of the dealer before the CEL in my GMC came back on in my trade in I never paid attention to the stereo, previous owner stuck in a stock am/fm radio which wouldn t even work, This dealer was a couple hundred miles away (I had to drive to get a v10)so they sent me the proper nav radio for my truck, had it installed (since they were paying) everything works, XM,radio, navigation but no backup camera, what should I look for? maybe the stereo guy didn't plug it in? is there a seperate plug or a way to turn it on?
Factory one, I guess the prevoius owner may have swapped stereo's, the dealer sent me a new nav unit but I think it was from an edge as Sirius told me, this Ford Dealer I bought the truck from seems like a cheap "bad area" car dealer, the idiot salesman had not a clue about this truck, well they got my GMC Duramax with 89K which needs a turbo and is a POS. They even forgot to smog it and want me to do it and send them the bill, They sent me a pretty beat up nav unit but it works and sounds really good except for BU cam, I was thinking of getting the "lockpick" and asking them to pay 1/2 as I wanted one anyways even if the cam worked. The Dealer is up in Arroyo Vista, CA, I would Avoid them if you can. Complete Idiots, I know much more about their vehicles than they do............., I had to drive home 235 miles listening to a v10 with a magnaflow, they handed me a cd player from an 05 focus and sent me to a stereo shop in Santa Maria, wasted my time as it wouldn't even fit, the dumb azz salesman tried to tell me the rear veiw cam is in the mirror, yet I shined my android flashlight in it and it is not there. I wanted a 08-10 v10 lariat and could not find one so I had to deal with these knuckleheads and drive 225 miles.
I did get a Ford Bumper to Bumper warranty and got 22k for my 06 duramax 2wd 90k and got this 09 lariat v10 4x4 loaded for 32k with 49k miles so I am pretty happy otherwise. This is a "TRUCK" but luxurious at the same time.
The radio has to be programmed to your VIN and the B/U camera has to be enabled. I guess that was the price you paid for getting over with your impending CEL on your trade in.
