STEALTH DELETE AND TUNE
working on a 2004 f-450 super duty 6.0 L and i had some questions on doing a EGR stealth delete. I have done three 2005 trucks but this is the first 2004 i have done, which has the throttle plate EGR backpressure butterfly valve. On previous EGR stealth deletes on the 2005 trucks i have been able to use the SF3 pre programmed device to load a towing tune with egr off option with the EGR valve in place and plugged in. would this work the same for the 2004 truck, if i just unbolt the butterfly disc off the shaft and leave everything plugged in the tune will take and no CEL will come on? Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

Prior to 2005 trucks have been known to not show a CEL or code when removing EGR parts alone. I removed the throttle plate on my 2004 with no issues.
i also noticed that the HPOP is different on this year of engine, has anyone had any problems with them? i was going to do the SCT fitting update, but this hpop has a different connection all together, what experiences have you guys had? i just want to address it while i have access to it.
Also we will be rebuilding all of our injectors, i could definatly see the back to injectors were getting hotter than all the others, have any of you guy tried any of the fuel loop kits? to give even cooling and pressure to the injectors? some of them i saw come with a pressure regulator, which was around 8 bills....any out there more basic and less cost?
i was trying to read the serial number on the engine block to id the date of the engine but its so rusted i cant see any numbers. i ran a vin decode on the truck and this is what i get, i dont think any of that will help with the engine though? is there another place to look?
We are still learning, this is our first cab off job. look at the hole we found in the tranmission above the starter...haha...
Thanks for all your input!!!

whats your thoughts on the fuel loop?
the hole in the tranmission bell housing, must have been an aftermarket starter failure, i think we are going to patch it with an epoxy patch kit just to keep the dirt out.
thats a great idea on the tune, just do trans tune to get the egr off, before i would have to get a custom tune written.
BTW this truck only has 100,000 miles on it, but we were suffering from stiction and egr problems, so decided to tear into and we got to the point of no return so we are doing everything we can to get some longevity and reliablity out of the rest of the life engine.
also trucks prior to 2005 do not have hour meters, what have you guys been running for an hour meter?
