Explorer Strip for F1

I finally started my F1 project. It is the first vehical I have restored. I have basic knowledge of vehicals but I am mechanicaly inclined and able to read and figure everything out through shop manuals or forums. I am going to be running a 302 in the F1 which I am pulling out of an explorer this weekend. My wife has given me a week to return her parking spot in the garage to her (between wood working and my truck I already occupy 3/4 of the garage). My question is what should I strip from this truck before sending it to the wrecker. Obviously the engine will be taken, I am thinking the ignition, and radiator. It is an EFI truck and I will be putting a carb on my truck so I dont think I should be salvaging any of the fuel system? Is there anything else I might be missing. I only have a week to get everything I need off the truck so want to make sure I get it all and dont send it away to later realize I should have taken something else. The trani is shot so that wont be salvagable. Its also an automatic and I am thinking I would like a standard.

Thank you in advance.

The explorier 8.8" rearend, and maybe the Explorier transmission might be good upgrades.

I was thinking the same till I saw it. Unfortunitly the rear end has had a hilbilly lift done to it. Lots of chopping and to tell you the truth might be the main reason it failed its saftey (reason I am able to pick it up for $200). I think I will go with the Ranger rear end from the wreckers and rebuild it. From everything I am reading it has the same mounting suface to mounting surface measurment where the explorer is 2" bigger then the F1's? The tranny is shot. No forward gears at all. Its also an auto and I am looking at putting a standard in it.

No matter what we talk about saving from the EX, there will be things you will need, nickel and dime, dollar and ten dollar stuff. Any chance of storing the carcass of the Explorer somewhere not far away? Nothing beats having a complete donor.

The explorer rear is a direct bolt in and if the housing itself isn't messed with I would consider using it. Very strong rear.
