    Hey buddy,
I'm building a 51 merc and I like what you did with the vic suspension, I bought one the other day is an 05. I'm looking for info on what you did. Do you have any drawings? Or measurements that I can go by? Any help at all thanks

As I recall when it was square with the frame the mounting holes were the same distance from the front radiator support cross member. So I don't think the holes on mine were offset by 1". Doesn't sound right to me.

Hey bud! Got a question for ya. Im about to give the go to the machine shop to have the front end welded. I called the other day and he asked me before he welded it if this sounded right, he said "theres a 1" difference between the center to center of the front frame rail mounting holes and the back when it is butted up flat at the cut you made" he just wanted to make sure that was right before he welded it. I was going to see if you remember that on yours? I mean i measured center on mine and marked it and tge split 2&3/4" and marked that on each side of my center mark making 2&3/4" cut out of dead center of the cross member. I know my cuts were strait and even if they weren't i know i wasn't an inch off lol. We all assume that the mounting holes for the frame rails on the crown vic just has that 1" difference in it by the way it is designed to fit the crown vic. Just going to get your thoughts on it. Thanks again man.

I Was actually wondering what you done on the shaft for the rack.OK I need to cut it too then. The bottom side of the oil pan on the kyote is about 9 ". After the ifs is narrowed there's about 10 and 3/4" between the motor mount perches so time will tell there when I go to put it in. I would have thought that welding the cast alluminum would be next to impossible lol. But yeah man it really is simple so far. I cut mine myself and I will have a local machine shop weld it for me. I wonder if I didn't cut the shaft on the inside of the rack if the extra 2.75" could be adjusted out in the tie rod ends?

Hey bud, names Matt btw. I also seen a link to your photo bucket on the build as well. I like how you strengthened the frame and all up. Yeah I just went and got my ifs yesterday and started freaking out thinking I couldn't use it lol. I was searching everywhere before hand to find someone that has done it. As far as the motor mounts go SUPPOSEDLY the crown Vic mounts work with the coyote I'll just have to build some adaptors to compensate for the narrowed ifs. I figured the steering linkage would have to have some modding too. My thing I think will be getting a oil pan for the coyote to fit the narrowed ifs. Did you mark your ifs and just take it to someone? Or did you cut it yourself and have someone weld it up? Also did you not use the sway bar?
