When carring 2 bikes on the back

I wouldn't think that would stress your transmission or cause it to 'hunt'. It will downshift a little sooner going uphill and maybe stay in the lower gears a little longer when accelerating. You have to be careful when towing heavy loads but you're nowhere near that threshold. But, bottom line, as dano says, if you notice it acting up, you have your answer.

I had myself, 2 friends of mine (800-950 of fat guys in the truck total including myself) plus 4 heavy full toolboxes, a welder, 200' of tow chain, and about 200 other pounds of junk. Overdrive on the whole time, even going up some decent hills it never downshifted or seemed upset. On the return trip towing a tandem axle trailer with a 1970 F100 we had the O/D off.
800-1000lb shouldn't be much of a hassle at all for your truck especially if its in the bed of the truck.
