Front cab mounts not level
#16
is how it left my house in the UK..
is how it was delivered to my house in the US. Yes the Cab was mangled, the front fender was bent up as well. This was all while being shipped in a container for security and safety as it was not drivable.
its hard to see from this pic, but the complete front end was collapsed and the 3/8" thick steel plates on the suspension mounts had been bent right round from the force. If It wasn't dropped, I have no idea what could have done this.

Maybe the alignment/body shop can straighten it out again. When I was in Germany (in the 70s) they use to ship vehicles on Roll on Roll off ships (no containers) the vehicles would break loose and smash the front and rear ends up something terrible. I would think secured in a container they would have fared better. Although I have heard the container ship guys talk about losing containers overboard in storms.

The cab wings should actually drop 1/2" from the frame rails and out.

Make shure you look at the second picture available and also read the text under the picture when enlarged.

That's just what I need. With this info and getting the frame checked for straightness I should hopefully work out what is up.

Just a quick update, I got the rolling chassis on a Jig and had it all measured. It looks like the chassis itself is actually within tolerances (well within 5mm/3/16", which for the age of the vehicle the chassis guy said was ok).
The only thing that needed to be done was to re align the Running board mounts. I will make up the 3/16" difference between the front cab mounts with a couple of washers, but might need to use an adjustable mount at the back to take up any difference.
Has anyone used the adjustable mounts from mid fifty/others. Can I get away with using just one and leave the fixed on the other side?
Thanks
