Any ideas where to start? Yesterday driving in the rain the truck started flashing "service advance track and check brakes" on the message center then put this code up a few minutes later? Today CEL is off but the message screen is going crazy flashing these messages?? I will call and book an appointment with the dealer tomorrow as it is still under warranty but was curious if any of you had an idea what went for a crapper?
First thing I would check to see if you blew the fuse for that component under the hood. If you had a lot of rain it may have shorted something. Fuse may be gone but there also may be an underlying cause to it like a bare wire that shorted or connection that got water in it and shorted somewhere on the frame. I got that message when I borrowed a fuse from the box under the hood to replace one for something else - didn't have a spare fuse with me and needed to borrow it temporarily. Get out your owner's manual to see the fuse diagrams.
I did check the abs fuse and it was fine. Had a quick look behind both wheels but will have another look and pull the connections apart. Where is the abs module located ?
Don't just check the ABS fuse under the hood - check them all. The fuse I borrowed wasn't for ABS, it was for a different system (can't recall right now) but set the advance track warning.
An update to my problem: the truck spent two days at the dealer this past week and the tech found a wire in the abs harness that had rubbed through behind the drivers inner fender. All good now, just hope it doesn't happen again!!
Thanks for the update. I think I heard that one other time on here in the past. It's rare but I guess it happens. Good to know in case others have a similar issue.
I agree, that is why I had the tech show me where it was worn through. It looks like there is a chance of it happening depending on how or who ties the harness up at the factory.

Hi Canadian SD
This is Kwasi. Have you been able to take your truck to your dealer as planned? I would like to look into your concern and see what I can do to assist. To proceed, please share current status including year and odometer reading
Kwasi, thanks for the reply! The vehicle is working fine again. It is a 2012 F250 SD with 56,000 km. on the odometer. I have purchased the ESP plan to ensure coverage for some time yet.
