Man, I really enjoy working on my old 66 f250. I'm probably not very good at it (meaning it takes me twice as long as it should to do anything) but I really love getting my hands dirty and figuring things out. The problem is that old blue is my daily driver so anytime I want to do anything to her, I'm sharing my wife's car. Old blue has been up on blocks for a month now while I convert to front disc brakes and a lower rear diff. So I decided that I'm going to start looking for a pre-66 short bed to build, even if it takes me 10 years to finish.
Anyway, my local yard has a rolling frame and cab but they want around $750 for it. I feel like that's a little steep so I wanted to ask about options here before I jump on that frame. (Or maybe someone here has one they'd let go of in Northern California) I've heard of people using Crown Vic frames and cutting down long bed frames. Wondering if either of these options are better then the rolling frame at the yard?
