Short Bed Frame

If I wanted to change my truck to a short bed, what frames aside from the 73-79 would work for me? I have a 1978 F-150 regular cab 2wd long bed that I would like to get to a short bed. Thanks!

It would be easier to cut your frame to size.
To answer your question, I think any of the short dentside f-100 or 150s could be used.

Probably....but I am a little nervous about hacking into my frame. I need like a step by step breakdown of instructions before I would feel comfortable doing it.

If your not comfortable doing it dont. It is not hard at all, but it needs somebody that is a skilled fitter and welder.

Its not that I am not capable, I just need a step by step instruction to ensure that I do everything perfect. there are several write-ups and they are great. I just need to sit down and really read through them to make sure that I fully understand it.

I have a standard cab short box frame and bed. Its 4x4 though.

I asked the question up here last week, I got a few close answers, but I couldn't get a final answer on what to do about the frame widening 4 inches in the back.
