start problem

E350 won't start
It's been running fine. It started, I let it warm up then shut it down. I went to start it again and it would turn over byt no ignition. After 4 attempts it started. Then it sat for a week and I went to start it same thing. No ignition but it turns over fine, don't want to wear battery down. Where to begin troubleshooting?

Fuel pressure and spark to the plugs. A scanner connected to the DTC portal should also give you an indication what might be at fault.
While the ECM in the modern day vehicles is pretty amazing at managing and reporting within its operating parameters it can't do it all for us---the occasional trouble shooting is necessary.
