I have a 2003 F-250 and the dome light stays on when the drivers door is open. And the door adjourn light stays on all the time. Some one told me to spray wd-40 in it. It just made my truck smell. Is the swith located in the door latch. I don't see one of those push button deals.
Thanks for any info.
yes the switch is in the latch assembly, I have had to remove the inner panel on 2 trucks to get enough penetrant into the latch, but usually you can spray enough through the openings at the latch. Also I've had better luck with a combo of PB Blaster and plastic safe electronic/brake cleaner.
Yep that little sucker is in the latch assembly and WD-40 stinks I don't know
if PB Blaster or not. However I do know that Kroil stinks to high heaven.
The contact cleaner will only smell till it flashes off. Speaking of flashing off DON'T SMOKE!
That stuff can be flammable.
The easy way is to take the inside door panel off and remove the moisture guard (save to reinstall)
find the wires going to the latch. you may be able to get better access this way and it not
that hard to remove the panel.
I have power locks on mine and I think that the switch is in that unit.
I have not had any problems with mine. YET...
Let us know how things work out.
I found some Youtube videos for you to look at.
Is the truck having the problems the 2013 in your about me ?
If it is the 2013 I was not able on a quick search to find one for that year.
