Heater Problem?
My heat is not blowing at all. Seems like the blower motor is not working.
Before I start troubleshooting, is there a common issue with these, such as a relay, switch or motor that goes regularly? I'd like to have a head start on my troubleshooting.
Thanks!

Does it work on any speed, or no speed at all? Does this truck have AC?
Before doing anything, verify continuity of the fuse with a multimeter.

yes sir, it has A/C that is disconnected. The fan does not blow at any speed. Breaking out the multi meter now, thanks!

It now blows, but only on high setting......and it will only blow for 5 minutes at a time, then shuts off.
Maybe the switch? possibly a relay?
thanks.

What changed in between it not working at all and now working for short periods? I assume the fuse was good? What about when it fails?

If it works on high speed only, check the blower resistor. It's easy to check visually. Take it out and look for any broken resistor coils.

In the last picture I posted, that resistor is bad. If you look closely at the coils that are at about the 3:00 O'clock position, you can see a break in the coil.

Definitely check out the resistor, as that will explain only functioning at full speed. The shutting off at full speed after 5 minutes is a separate issue, as the resistor is bypassed in this mode.
