Ice layer... its just like sonar and uses proximity to attain distance and then beeps more frequently the closer the object gets. in this case the layer of ice is in front of the sensor and the sensor detects that so it beeps thinking that you are about to hit something.
Thats strange, mine only "mess up" when my bumper is covered in ice and even then i know to expect it and m not going to try to bust the ice cuz i dont wanna mess up any sensors.
I wonder what the cold could have to do with it, because certainly electronics work differently in extreme cold. But im located in TX so cold to me is 10 degrees or so with 30-40 mph winds but thats not the same as most of the country sees regularly.

Ya its hit -40c up here, my truck really doesn't like me somedays, lol. I think it might a frozen, condensation on/in the sensors? Dunno, they never act up during the summer like this.
I had to get one replaced already, it quit and then they all quit.
If any moisture got inside the sensor mount or inside the sensor itself then froze it would expand and obviously cause problems, but i doubt that is the case since there is no "moisture" anything wet in those temps is already frozen!
