I just bought the truck I have all ways wanted a 96 f250 460 crew 4x4 but the side is bashed in. I plan on getting this truck all straightened out and keep for a long time.I am putting a flatbed on it so no worries about the bed.

I found a cab off a 95 4 door 350 dually powerstroke that is stripped for $500. You think that's a good deal? I don't know I have never looked for one before. Will everything swap out of mine? below is the dually add
Well that's the thing I don't know to much about body work. I can weld and wrench but haven't tried body work but I think I could pull it off. To me it looks like if I could find the panels I could just cut and replace. No luck finding any panels though and the cab is bent up at the top or the back glass and the body mount needs some attention.
I figure I can get the cab and paint it and be under a grand but to fix it looks pricey to have some one fix it
I have a company truck so this is just going to be my tow pig so if it took a weekend or 2 with some buddies I think it would be fine. Does $500 seem like a fair price for a straight body? I will have to paint it but that's okay
Swapping everything over really is just nuts and bolts.I've done it many times. You will have to check with your state dmv and see what to do about the vin#s on the cab and frame won't match. I know in fla when u bring a vehicle from another state the dmv checks both vins and if they don't match you can't register it .Been there done that
I hate when threads do not have an ending so I came back to this one. I really looked over my truck and found the cab was pinched in the roof and floor so I am picking up a cab this weekend.
I have a couple of questions. The owner has an backhoe that we can use to put it on my trailer so that problem is worked out but how should I rig it on the trailer? Can I just sit the cab on some 2x4s and strap it down? I just do not want to damage it.
2cd, What is the best way to remove the front clip in one piece? I figure Hood, cowl, bumper, and then I am not sure. I would like to leave the wheel wells in if possible. It looks like I could just slide the clip forward a foot or so then pull old cab and install new.
I will probably start the swap in a week or 2 and will post progress here. Im going to prep the cab with sound deadening matts and run stereo wires and expandafoam all the nooks and cracks so hopefully when I do my diesel swap one day it want be as loud while I have everything apart so I have to scrounge up some more cash so I can do the swap as quickly as possible. thanks for any help
oh yea, and heres a picture of my dog LOL
