F-150 debut delayed article
F-150 debut delayed article
I knew I read this last month but couldn't find it. From the most recent articles though it sounds like the newly designed F-150 WILL BE on display at the Detroit Auto Show???
Ford May Delay 2015 F-150 Because of Aluminum Issues
Ford May Delay 2015 F-150 Because of Aluminum Issues
That article states the launch for sales may be delayed. Not the debut of the truck. These are two totally different things. Just because the truck will debut at the auto show doesn't mean that it'll go on sale the next day.
Ford did say last month that the truck would NOT be SHOWN at Detroit because of the aluminum issues. This was NOT the article I read stating that. You're correct though they did not say in this particular article that the truck wouldn't be in Detroit.
I think a lot of people are more interested in the actual appearance of this vehicle and if it carries much resemblance to the Atlas concept.

Thanks Tom. That is exactly what the Ford Rep. stated...the 2015' F-150 would not appear in Detroit due to aluminum issues. But you know with the new diesel Titan forthcoming and the newly designed GM trucks already out I don't think Ford has any choice here but to get back into the ballgame of new designs in the pick up arena with their new version. Competition in this lucrative sector of the auto world (trucks) is intense to the max. One misstep can cost billions.
ArtsBest I didn't mean to imply that you were losing your mind. However I didn't see where in the article it said that the debut would be postponed. I did mention though that sales production for the truck might be. Therefore delaying when they'd be made available to the dealer lots.

Yeah it will w/o a doubt be there with much attention forwarded to it. And that's because of its credential in the US auto world. Best selling vehicle for how long now? I'm really surprised however the new Titan will not be there. What's with that Nissan?
The Titan has been in =the lime light for years but, they have enough cool stuff on their lots to bring people in and gain attention that way. Knowing Nissan, I'll expect to see some major TV ad blitz when the 5.0 smoker comes to market.
