You friend will be turning off the 4WABS, transmission shift point information,speed control and PCM input. To see what effect this has on the performance, just unplug the connector and tie it back to see if you really want to do this.

Just wondering, what would be the point of putting in a VSS switch?
If your friend is trying to remove the speed limiter, tinkering with the VSS is not the way to do it.

I read somewhere yesterday that newer Ford trucks don't use a traditional VSS. Instead, they use a wheel-speed sensor that's also part of the rear anti-lock brake system. If this is indeed true, tinkering with it could cause a SERIOUS problem.
