Pulled this code yesterday KOER...best i can tell it is a MAF code or a TOT code, which my truck has neither. Not sure what it could be. Any ideas? Also got a 34 and a 41 if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Run the test again. I agree, 26 doesn't seem to be the right thing for your truck. Maybe you have the wrong computer if you are getting this code again?
I ran it three times yesterday, because i knew i had to be counting wrong, but i will run it again just to be sure. Would it even run if it did have a MAF computer or computer for an E4OD?
Are you positive someone didn't do a MAF swap on your truck? I don't know too much about it, but don't they make kits for this so you can modify the engine?
According to the 1986 FoMoCo Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis Manual, a KOER Code 26 is not possible for any engine in a Light Truck application that year.
Possible reasons you might see this:
- You're misinterpreting codes or pulling them incorrectly
- Some PO replaced the computer with the wrong one
There has not been a MAF swap on the truck (yet). I am 100% sure that I pulled the codes correctly. It is entirely possible that I counted wrong, but I did count the other codes right. I am going to reset the codes and pull them again tomorrow then see what it says. I was pulling codes to see about a fuel mileage issue (4-6 mpg), which I think my EGR codes may be the cause of that. Thanks for the input guys.
