Hello, just a little ?. I have a 69 f-250 camper special. Want to know if later year running gear( like 73 to 78 ect. ) will bolt right into truck. Like motor, trans, disk brake change, rear end. Is there info interchange site a guy can use. THX David
Well, much of the stuff changes over pretty easy, are you talking about staying with 2wd, or are you looking into doing a 4x4 conversion? the 67-72's long bed, reg cabs had a 131" wheelbase, and the 73-79's went up to 133" wheelbase........Certain model F250 and F350 2wd's beginning in 68 or 69 came with front disk brakes.......Otherwise most of the running gear on a properly equipped 2wd F250 is pretty much just as good as on the later models, and the FE series engines on a 69 just might be better than what you might find on an emissions controlled late 70's truck. If your talking about putting your F250 Camper Special body on a later model 4x4 Chassis, 76 or 77 had front disks, the only thing real noticeable is the cab/bed gap with the longer wheelbase.
THX for the comebacks, I have a 2 wheel which I'm staying with. The reason I'm asking is I may have a chance to pickup a 73 f-250 donor truck ($400.00). They say it has good running gear. I have not looked at it yet. One of the main things I want would be the rear end. ( a 60 Dana rear Diff., 3:73 Gears with a Power Locking true Poss locking Diff, Carrier. ) All of us 2 wheel drivers know these old trucks get stuck on wet grass. Also it has 4 barrel which I need . He claims the motor is 352 I though they only put 360 and 390 in 73 trucks. Also I may need the c-6 . Any comments and info. THX David

1967 was the last year for the 352. Someone in that truck's storied past might have thrown it in there though.
