You might try calling a couple of Ford service departments and get their take on this. I don't think you can add hardly anything without getting the PCM and/or the BCM programmed to see it.
When I was ready to buy my truck they had just made the productivity screen available in the late '13 XLT's, but only with the premium pkg. I would have been fine with that package, but it just didn't work out that way. I compromised for other things while taking an already built truck to get the rebates being offered on the '13's. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my truck, but that screen would have been cool to have. Can the retro fit it in? I suppose anything's possible. I would think it would be difficult and expensive to do though. But ya, let us know what you find out.
Really? I would get another opinion. I suspect it is doable, but it would probably require updating the whole instrument cluster and some flashing of the truck's computer software.
I can see where it would be quite involved. The entire gauge cluster would have to be changed, and I imagine there are numerous sensors etc, and possibly even a different computer. Thanks for the update.

I have the productivity screen in my 2012 XLT F-350, which was a factory order rather than something from the dealer lot. As you noted, it was part of the XLT Premium package. I like having it, although I probably don't use a quarter of the features.
I might use them more if I got to drive the truck more! <grin> I took delivery in March 2012 and I just turned over 11K miles. I should probably make it a point to explore the features more.
I ordered a 2014 with the XLT value pack and the productivity screen is supposed to be included in that too. I think the upgrade to Premium Pack is mostly for more chrome pieces.

That must be a recent change. I remember going back and forth with my wife over the extra cost of the Premium Pack versus the Value Pack. It all came down to whether we thought the Productivity screen would be worth the extra money.
Edit: I just went back and looked at my copy of the 2012 Major Product Changes guide. The XLT Value Pack did not include the productivity screen.

Not to change the subject here, but CTyankee, I notice in your sig picture that your truck is two-tone, which I wish I had but didn't think was available on XLT's when I bought mine.
