Question Keys

I am posting for a friend. He just got an 06 250 with one key.
The key fits the ignition only. It will not turn the lock on the door or tailgate. Any clue how to find the right key. Also the front passenger door lock is blank, no lock.
Thank You All.

That new of a truck , the dealer should be able to cut the keys by the VIN . With proof of ownership of course .

My '06 has no key hole in the passenger door and I JB Welded a modified penny in the driver's key hole. My key only works the ignition, tailgate and airbag switch. They break into every F-250 around these parts so the penny trick was my fix for the f'ed up key hole in my truck, after they broke in!?!
Dealer should be able to help you unless the ignition was replaced from a theft. Then you can replace all keyways to get to one key.

That will be your best bet to go to your local dealer and for less then ten dollars you can get a new key . When I bought mine it only had one key, the ford dealer cut me a second key.

When I bought my truck, the drivers lock and the door latch assembly was broke from a freaking thief. The previous owner scared them off before they were able to get away with the stereo.

I bought a new door latch and lock and had it painted. I was able to set the tumbler to fit my key in about 15 minutes.

Sorry to hijack but I never have tat problem anymore. I replaced the front door handles with exact ones like the rear ones. No more keyholes. Then I installed Jimmi jammers and removed the push rods. So far so good. The downside to all tat is ur batteries better be working..... Or else.... Lol

Wow that's serious business there. Do car prowlers not like to just break windows? That's always been my fear, usually I just leave it unlocked, because I don't want to have to replace any glass. So far so good, but I also don't have anything real nice inside, and never leave bags or "interesting" items in it.

My '06 tailgate lock is really sensitive. It won't turn unless the key is in just the right spot and you hold your tongue just the right way . You may have your friend try that. Just be patient and gentle with it. It may be as simple as that.
