I had an on going issue where the truck would not go into 4wd consistently. I would lay under an d tap the motor to get it to work. I went to autozone today and there were two options to replace the unit, open connector and closed. One was around $60, the other about twice that. I got the $60 one. Installed and I now will shift into 4wd drive high consistently, 4wd low will not engage, I do not hear a click so I do not think it is getting the signal.
There was one brown wire that I cut and spliced, it went into the transfer case. I should have removed it from the connector.
So I am not sure if I created this or if I have the wrong motor or if I have a bad motor or something else.
Is there a relay for 4wd high and 4wd low?
Any help is appreciated. I like the truck other than the wheels/center caps that may fly off and are expensive to replace.
