Alright. I rewired the wires running to the distributor from the ignition box. It seems that there was a short in one of the wires.causing it to break the circuit going to the coil. Problem fixed. It still ruins rich though. ):

Running rich is a carb thing, but glad to hear ya figured it out.

Why not toss in the stock type plugs? For example I run exclusively Motorcraft/Autolite ASF-42 plugs. The stock plug type should be on your valve cover sticker.

That might be what i end up doing. Ford wouldn't put them in there if they were not going to work right.

If you're running rich though, still sounds like your carb or choke may be out of adjustment. Might wanna try tuning it. No offense intended here but, do you know how to tune it?

Yeah i do. But i think the temp change could have affected the choke. I'll probably lean the choke and air/fuel mix up a bit.

I was thinking the same thing about the temp change.

It went from high 30's to single digits here in southern Wisconsin. Oddly enough my truck only required minimal tuning to get it to run right in these temps.

Wow. We don't get temps like that here in georgia. It shouldn't take no more than a quarter turn on each side.

I agree shouldn't be too much. Yeah right now its 21 degrees but feels like 4. As of Monday it will be -13 as a high with wind chill values of -50 degrees. My truck and its 10wt40 oil are gonna LOVE me!

I run straight 30 weight so when temp changes it doesn't really change the oil.

With that weight, I've found it doesn't change much. However with the 40...that stuff is literally like tar in my oil pan.

I turned my a/f mix screws in about 3/8 a turn. It runs great now with about 25% quicker response time. Now is time to fix my motor mounts because all that revving trying to keep the motor running wore the bushings out.
