Hey guys, I just bought a new Sport Trac 4x4 and its my first truck/suv. I traded in my 2001 Bullitt Mustang if you believe that! Wish I didn't have to do it but I got a new job and I needed a vehicle to get me to work 15 miles away in the snow during the winter. Being a "former" mustang nut, I obviously want to boost the performance on my sport trac but I don't know much about 'em. What do you guys reccomend? Thanks for the help.
Anything to do with an Explorer or Ranger 4.0 can be done to the Sport Trac too.
BBK, which does Mustang stuff, does 4.0 stuff too. A supercharger is the best upgrade possible and there are various "almost" bolt on kits for the 4.0 available. This gives true performance.
Various companies sell aftermarket chips. Try James Duff.
Since you got the truck for snow work, I would invest in another set of rims and put REAL snow tires on them. Something along the lines of Blizzaks etc.
A tool box full of snow equipment (like a shovel) and survival stuff (food blanket etc.) would go a long way in a bad stuck.
Since you are doing on-road stuff, a limited slip in the back would be good.
