I just need to get some confirmation on my heater hoses. I want to back flush my system and I think I know which is in and which is out, but I cant seem to find the answer to my question in my owners manual or Chilton.
the inlet side of the heater core come from the water pump and the outlet side runs to the engine. Is this correct?
Look at the pump, the heater hose is 180* from the lower radiator hose, that is pushing water to the core.
If your going to flsuh, I would also remove both heater hoses and flush the core both directions to make sure you have any and all rust out of the core.
The water pump will get its supply from the block. Everything it throws radially (read: the hoses) will be pressure. So, the return line from the heater core goes to the block.
