I have a '13 with 11,000 miles that the low fuel pressure light has come on a few times this winter. I took it to the dealer and told them what was going on. They only changed the fuel filters and didn't investigate any farther. The paper work also said it was the low fuel light and not the low fuel pressure light... It was fine for a few days but then it happened again. The fuel pump would make some noise as well. The light comes on and the fuel pump makes noise when the temp is close to 0 and I accelerate to highway speeds. I am running winter blend fuel and running the Ford anti gel so the fuel shouldn't be gelling.
I stopped in at the dealer again about a week ago and the service manager wouldn't send anyone out to listen to the noise. He set up an appointment for today. Today it was -8 when I dropped it off at the dealer and the light didn't come on and there wasn't any noise. It is supposed to be cold overnight so they are going to keep it to see if they can get it to act up again. They called into Ford but no answer from them yet.
Any thoughts?
If they dont fix it I would take it else where. Sounds like they dont want to miss with it which is bs. After spending all that money for the truck I think a person should be put on a vip list.

I was just saying customer service should be better than it is. If someone buys a new vehicle they should take care of them. Regardless if its a truck, car or a bicycle.
Everyone else is great its just the service manager. I get much better service on his days off. I am going to chat with the owner of the dealership when I stop in tomorrow.
Assuming your fuel filters are clean and there is no gelling issues, there's a good chance it is the fuel pressure sensor. Mine was just replaced because I kept getting intermittent low fuel pressure warning.

A sensor wouldn't make the pump make noise though. Filters changed less than 1000 miles ago. That was the first thing that was tried. Winter fuel with Ford anti gel mixed to directions on the bottle.
You had any previous fuel system repairs? On the driver side fuel rail, there is 2 sensors. On the front, its the fuel rail pressure sensor (thats probably the one thats been replaced). On the rear (under the master cylinder) is the pressure control valve. If theres any debris in the fuel rails (like a low pressure pump self destructing) it'll plug up the pressure control valve causing low pressure codes.

No repairs of any kind. I haven't had an issues with anything on the truck since I bought it at the end of April until this popped up. I will bring this up to the tech when I stop in there tomorrow. Thanks.
I had this issue and changed the filters. That fixed it. I must of picked up some bad fuel this winter because I just changed the filters this fall and usually I can go until the spring at least or to summer. It happened when the temps got down to well below zero. Even with the anti gel in the tank. So I picked up some bad fuel somehow. And I think I know were.

Have you heard any news about your truck, PetersPatio? Let me know if you need me to jump in and assist; I'm always happy to check out options. To get the ball rolling, I'll need a PM from you with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.
