So i had work done to the truck after it was damaged. One of the things that was replaced was the rear bumper. Now it seems every time i drive the truck in the rain, the back up sensors dont work correctly. As soon as you shift into reverse, the warning tone becomes a constant audible tone (no beeping just constant). When its dry out the system seems to work just fine.
I took it back to the collision shop and they said that one left sensor was bad so they changed it. Im still stuck with the same issue. This was the 3rd time i took it back to them with the same results. My first guess was that something was getting wet and completing a circuit. They say thats not the case. So im stuck now. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be getting wet. I gotta take it back to them again this week.
thank you
Send them a certified letter with the timeline of events (date/times you've brought it back, etc.), followed by if they continually fail to correct the issue that you will bring it elsewhere and seek damaged from them in court.
Most any court will have the first shop pay the cost for the second repair shop ONLY if you can prove that you gave the first shop first stab at fixing it.
Fortunately im not out much money because an insurance company has paid damages thus far. Its the time that's more aggravating than anything. Im going to give them 1 more opportunity to fix the issue (because i said i would) and then i will go through all that nonsense afterwards if need be. Im just trying to see if there are any known components or wiring that might be vulnerable to getting wet especially during replacement of the bumper. I know... tough question but i had to ask.. Does anyone know where the speaker is in the rear?
