v10 headers

I have to replace header studs have a couple broke and have a bad leak now. So I was going to put headers on as I do this. What are the best headers to go with? Long or short?

I cant really say which is best, but I put the stainless eBay "cheap" headers on mine. It is a shorty basically just to replace the factory manifolds. Can't say I noticed much of anything.

I went with the Banks long tube headers on my V-10 EX, according to my finely tuned butt-dyno I think they helped a little bit across the entire RPM range, nothing huge but it does seem to have a little more umph now. They are pricey but seem like pretty high quality.

I've been tthinking some about headers, too. If money were no object, I'd DEFINITELY be pulling the trigger on the Banks system. Spendy buggers but they seem to have consistently the best reviews. Thorleys have a good rep, too.

Year and model of your rig?

Some pics along the process of install would be fabulous (hint, hint). Good luck, and congrats!

Banks or Thorleys? Banks have 5/8 flange and Thorleys have 3/8. Is it worth the extra money for the banks headers?

I did my own Banks install, only had two broken studs and they came out fairly easy. Biggest challenge to the job was fitting my meaty hands and forearms into some of the tight spots to access those studs/bolts, small ratcheting box wrenches were a big help. Here's my install thread to let you see what you are going to be looking at. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ll-w-pics.html
Good luck and keep us posted!

Just wondering where you ordered yours at? Also keep us posted on your thought after you get them on. I have been thinking of this, But I don't want my exhaust to be to loud. I currently have a Magna Flow cat and muffler. I don't want anything louder than that. Thanks.
