1979 ford 302 complete engine rebuild cost estimate.

i arebuild the 79 302 entirely but at least for as good price, im also interested in making the automatic into a standard. so the price on the entire thing with a 5 speed transmission. I also need a 9inch rear end.

Huh? Please work on your sentence structure. Second, you need to provide more information because we are not clairvoyant.

Are you doing your own work or having a shop do it??? Your labor is free but costs time.. A shop rate ranges from $60 to $90 per hour. Do the math.

302W rebuild? I think the better question is not how much it will cost but rather how much should you budget. It can range from as little as $500 all the way to $5,000 depending on what "rebuilt" means to you.

Auto to manual trans? New or used parts? Which manual trans are being considered? A typical range is $500 to $3,000.

Rear end? What does the truck have now? It prolly already has a 9-inch. Gear change? Rebuild?

You ask a big question with just a few words . Like HIO Silver ask , what do you want and how much can you do yourself ? You could check with a couple of local shops in your area for a estimate . At least that will give you an idea and just work from that . Another idea is to check what a rebuilt engine will cost and use yours for a trade in core . There are lots of different ways to get it done .

Trans 2,800, drive shaft 360-400, rebuild rear 1200-1500. Pedal assy 280+\- where you get it new or used. I just did all that.

I bought a running 302 for $500 and did a complete rebuild myself(had a machine shop do the heads and magnaflux) with some aftermarket goodies for $3100. So my total was $3600 just in the motor.

79 ford f100 302 rebuild

sorry im fairly new to the ford industry, but slowly trying to learn as much as i can. Ive had learned some things from the 79 ford but the owner himself does'nt really know everything about, to him he believes that the engine is stock. It was also in California for quite awhile. 302 4 barrel stepside is all he knows about it. i myself don't know everything that will be most helpful.
