03 150 4.6 I have a bad coil, question is, how to detect which one. The engine light is not on,thereby making the ob11 reader ineffective. Can someone please help?
Start engine, unplug each COP individually until this action yields no change.
Depending on which scanner you're using it should read a pending code for the misfire. Even though the CEL or MIL hasn't yet been triggered there shoujld be a readable code anyway.
Recently mine showed a misfire in the first 200 RPM's after ignition.

That doesn't work for "mild" misfires. Likewise, there is no pending code in these circumstances unless and until the misfire counts have exceeded the failure threshold.
You will have to read the Mode 6 misfire count data.
