I have 95 F150 351 auto. It starts fine with the remote starter but put the key in and it and touch the brake and it dies.
Try to start it with the key and you can hear a relay click under the dash but it will not crank (The stereo, headlights and gauges all function though). Leave the key in the run position and jumper the solenoid and it will turn over but will not start. Any ideas? I'm running into a wall with this one and of course I'm away from home and have limited tools here.
So it sounds like your ignition switch is bad. Its not recognizing the key is in and turned to the run position. Thats why it will start with the remote starter but dies when you touch the break. The remote start will kill the engine when the break is touched if the key isnt in. So its either the switch or some attatched relay.
Does the truck also have an alarm system? There's usually a very small toggle switch to bypass the alarm. On most alarms/remote starts, you turn the key to the run position, and move the switch to the opposite position of what it's in now.
When you turn the key to the run position, does everything work? Power windows, blower fan, radio?
Well I figured it out. Damn thing had a aftermarket anti theft device installed as well as a separate remote starter. The anti theft brain crapped out and wasn't letting anything out. I disconnected it and rewired a bit and it starts! Thanks Bob, You were correct! I was lucky and found it before you posted but you are 100% right!

Glad you got it going! My old Excursion had an alarm system in it that did the same exact thing.
