Trying To Post A Pic
This is my first attempt at posting a pic. I bought this truck from a man on this site. I had it delivered from California to Michigan. It's been mine since March of 2011. Even though the second pic shows it covered in snow it is not driven in snow.
This truck has been extremely reliable and I have not had a single problem with it since I bought it. It was originally a SuperCab but now is a regular cab. It is an F-350.
It has the 400 engine and auto-trans. The D-60 front axle had been removed before I bought it and it now has a D-44 front along with the D-60 rear.
I just figured I'd take the time to learn how to post a pic and show my truck.
I hope that's O.K. in this forum, I really don't know for sure.

Heck yeah it's arright! We call it 'truck ****'. Nice lookin' rig.
Btw, those wheels are directional. In the top pic, the front wheel "spins" correctly but the rear wheel is backwards and should be swapped with whichever rotates incorrectly on the passenger side.

Welcome to the pic club, post away, we love'm. Nice truck and swapping the rear wheels to go the same direction will help with your MPG....less drag.
I am kidding, but HIO Silver is right about them being directional. I imagine the Po swapped them from side to side on the rear.

Here are a couple pics of the truck when the PO had it on Bronco Graveyard for sale. I'm glad it's lower & lighter now, I have enough work trying to climb into it now

Get the metal door pull finger cups from any vendor LMC, NPD, DC and make sure they are tight other wise you can break the plastic one and trash a door panel quick.
Also try not to use the steering wheel (yea right) as a climb in handle, it will start to wear on it, especially if its a tilt wheel.
Get some nerf bars or steps, there are some cool ones out there that can be made to fit. That will also save your seat some wear and tear, sliding in and out.
Still a nice truck no matter what the tire and wheel set up.

I can still get into the truck alright but any higher and it would be a pain. I'm 6' 1" and 250 lbs. and I don't think I use the steering wheel for help but I will have to make sure that I don't. It's not a tilt wheel either.
The seat has a cover on it and I haven't even taken it off in the almost 3 years I've had the truck. I'm guessing it probably needs to be reupholstered one of these days. Too many butts sliding across it for all these years I would guess.
I took it for a ride today as it's 40 degrees in Detroit & sunny. The roads are dry, no snow and no salt. It ran great as usual.

The plastic cups have a tendency to break, allowing the force of shutting the door to damage the panel. Metal ones won't break out. I am also from the Detroit area, and it was warm today, but just wait. High of 19 tomorrow.

by all accounts, Ford didnt make a 78 F350 4wd..........and the truck pictured LOOKS like a fairly stock f250 regular cab 4x4, the wheelbase looks incorrect for a supercab.....Good looking truck, thats not an issue, but why do you believe you have an F350 4x4 Supercab from 1978,is this based on registration paperwork?

I don't know much about wheelbases or anything but in 2010 the PO sent a request to Ford for info based on the VIN. I have the paperwork they sent to him. It says the truck has a 133" wheelbase and is a 1979 F-350 Super Cab Styleside Pickup. If I think of it tomorrow I will measure the wheelbase. Where do you measure from? Center of the front hub to the center of the rear hub?
Things could've been swapped out and changed around but all that matters to me is I have a great truck and I love it.
Here are a couple pics of my 1978 F-250 2WD that provided the username for me on this site. I have now given this truck to my nephew. The first pic is when my Father & I were cutting off the old shocks and the bumper bolts.

I think the PO got something wrong on the paperwork. There is no denying your truck is 133" wheelbase. But it is not a supercab, you have a regular cab. Post up your vin# and we can decode it for you. Nice looking 350 though.

How can you tell from pics that it's a 133" wheelbase? I would need a tape measure.
The PO got nothing wrong in any paperwork. Ford Motor Co. sent the paperwork I am reading. It states in part:
Manufactured at our San Jose Plant
Vehicle produced 11/16/1978
133" wheelbase
Jade Dark Metallic Exterior Paint Color
Custom Cab
Lockable Hood Release
It provides other info as well concerning the options the truck originally came with.
P.S. Thanks for the info about the metal door panel cups.

All regular cab longbed trucks were 133" wheelbase. Supercab, crewcab, and super camper special were longer wheelbase. Surprised that the Ford paperwork states Supercab. Still a nice truck you have.

. From what you say that means my VIN # couldn't have come from the cab, obviously, and it couldn't have come from the frame either since it should've been longer for a supercab, right?I don't know any more than you do about things like this and I think most everyone here knows more than I do.
I just always figured the supercab came with a shortbed option and if you put a regular cab and an 8' bed on it then it would match up.
