pulling the trigger on a clutch

Well I'm way overdue for a clutch and last time I asked you guys about t what to get you all seemed to go with valair Kevlar/ceramic for my future goals of stage 1 and t500 but I just don't know if the price difference between that and step up from stock south bend is worth is it.. I am seeing that south bend kit at 650ish for everything from riffraff and the valair at 7 something STILL needing the flywheel?? Am I completely f____ed up or is that right? How can the valair be worth that much more over south bend?
Thanks guys

I think clutch manufacturers are pretty good at judging what power their clutches will hold. A least valair is. A stock clutch wont hold up to throwing power at it.

I hear ya. That is my question. Because stage 1 injectors and a t500 won't be over 350 so I would think I could save a good amount of money by going with south bend. I do not beat my truck, I use it but i use it well not beating the **** out of it.. Thanks for the input, hoping for more!

I think stage 1's will put you darn close. Most guys recommend the kevlar clutch for some breathing room.

The brass woven organic kit from Valair is rated for 350 hp and is right at $700 (I think) for the whole clutch kit and flywheel. South Bend are good clutches, but I like Valair myself. That's all I will run until they give me reason not to.

If the whole kit is 700 I could see the extra couple dollars over south bend since all you guys suggest it but I'll have to look again and see if I'm making a mistake.. Is that what you run with you stage 2s bill? Brass woven organic..?

I bet he has the Kevlar/ceramic or something. It would be a stretch to run the org/brass w IIs. I have that one though. It's pretty much no or go. There's not a lot in between and to try would probably burn it up good.

He had organic in his last truck with stage 2's and if I recall correctly it wouldn't hold it. Stage 2's should be over the 350 hp mark though I think.

I have the organic valair in my truck and I like it. Im stock power level so I cant say how it handles mods.

I have a kevlar/ceramic in this truck. I had the brass/organic in my other truck and it was great until I put Stage 2s in it.
