Stereo upgrade

My factory radio/cd player in my 03 is starting to give up. the tune and seek button don't work anymore and I want something a little better. I don't know the 1st thing about audio but I know I want something better.
Things I want
1. cd & dvd player
2. touch screen
3. Bluetooth capable
4. backup camera capable

Do the touch screens work ok in the cold climates? I do not want a separate disc player, I would like it to be all in the head. I do not want subs but may upgrade the factory speakers to something better. What brands/models should I look for? I do not want to spend a lot, I was thinking in the $300 range maybe a little more if a product fits my needs.

Is something like this worth the damn?

I have a Phase Linear touchscreen that came with the truck when I got it. It works adequately, but I feel that I have to take my eyes off the road too long to change things. I'm going to replace it with a receiver that has a remote control option or will work with my steering wheel radio controls. Just something to think about.

My 03 just has cruise stuff on the steering wheel, but audio controls would be nice. I was on vacation last week and I rented a toyota camry. It had controls in the wheel and I actually found them handy.

This is why I like the remote control idea. Back in the day I had one and I knew which button I was pushing simply by feel and position. That way I could concentrate on the road.

I am actually leaning more towards this one. That 1st link only had 1 used one and I think it was discontinued.

I put in this Pioneer unit: AVH-X5500BHS

Here is a post I put some pics on:

Double DIN/DVD units, school me!!! - Page 9 - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

I either use an USB flash drive or my phone with Muve music for tunes.

I also put in a switch to fool the DVD player so the wife can watch some movies on long trips.

The bluetooth has to be turned off to use the Torque APP cause the unit over rides it to the phone.

Easy to use, also has a remote control for it. I don't use it, but it's there.

Has review capabilities.

I called for some help and was told I would have to pay for an update on a
less that 15 day old unit. The map data was more than 3 years old at the time
of purchase of a new unit. The person I talked on the phone was rude and could
of cared less. All attitude. And after talking to some people I am not the first one
to get this response from them.

I am in the same boat, but I am going with the same one I put in my Dodge. I am going digital only, no CD, no TAPE. I use Pandora a lot.
I call these guys and let them put a system together for me. You can Google for discounts too.
