Cool Error Code P2700 p0751 p0700 p0730

Last Tuesday, I drove my truck 30 miles from home to work. When I got to parking lot, I put car in "R" to backend to a parking stop. The truck (2007 Ford F250 4x4 Diesel 6.0L Lariat with 93 K Org miles on it) would not go backwards, it would Rev up (i thought i put in it "N", but i did not) so i moved it from R to D then back to R. then it just REV up again. Then I put into “P”, turned off truck then started it back up. And it did the same thing.

So I push it into parking stop. Then I let the car set for about 3-4 mins, then I started it up again. And it worked. IT drove in “R” or D or 3,2,1 (so I left it in the parking spot). It worked fine. So I said WTH and walk into work. Then 6 Hrs later. I Started the truck, Drove home, got about 25 miles from the house, AT A STOP light then gave it gas.. and it REV UP again. (NOT GOOD), there were about 12 – 15 cars behind me. So after all the honking and me waving the single finger to everyone, (with a BIG Smile) I coasted the truck into a parking spot.

But this time, I saw the Check Eng light on and the Tow/Haul light flashing. So I called a Tow truck and had to sent to Russ Chalko at PowerFloDiesel dot com in Mck Texas off Hw 380. He did work for me in the past a yr ago when he was working at the FORD Dealer ship in Plano. But now he as his own shop.

After the next day, he called me and said. Yeah, you need a new Trans and it will cost about $3995 – 4200 bucks. that is when I stared to CRY (like a baby), then I asked A LOT of questions, and did not help, he said, Yep Trans is shot and you need a newone. Or a rebuilt one. We can rebuild you new Trans with Stage 2 and I can give you a 1yr Warranty (then i aske for 2 yr sn he said, sure about about 2 hrs). I said let me think about and I started Internet shopping for rebuilt ones, new ones for about $5K – 5700 that would give me 5 yr/ 500K mile warranty. So then I called him back and ask, as there anything in the PAN? Did you see any parts? He said NOPE don’t need to codes say you need a new Trans. So the next day, I drove to his shop, asked him to txt the codes so he did (p2700,p0751,p0700 and p0730), when I got there I asked can I read the codes on the truck. Sure he said, so I got my SCT programmer and looked for codes and it showed NONE. He said, some code reader doesn’t show all Trans/Eng codes..etc. So then I asked, can we pull the pan, I would like to see it. He said sure, and it will cost 1hr labor $90. I said. Ok so he pulled it. To me it looked ok, no burnt smell, just redish with a little grey tent on top and magnet had normal small small dust specs on it. BUT everyone in the shop said.. NOPE it looks bad, you need a new trans…etc. Then one guy it shop asked, I can sell you one for $1500 and warrant it for 3 months, and I said NO, I still can’t dish out that kind of money. After we dump ALL the oil out of pan, there was a SCREW on the bottom of the pan. (looked still good, it was a LONG one I said, put pan back on I will pay you and then I had it towed Home.

Now with all that said, should I put Bolt back in, then change filter and then refill??? See if it does it again, OR do I need to change any solenoids? That is why I’m asking for help.

I do know how to work on cars, engines, motorcycles but I don’t know anything about Trans on a 4x4 Diesel. And I have no idea why they think I need a new trans without pulling any pan or anything. Anyone have any ideas for me? now i need help

i can send you all any pics, of oil, pan, filter and bottom on Trans, I have all of them. I also have the txt from Russ showing the codes..etc

do you all maybe know whey I can't read the SCT / DTS codes???

Don't waste your time, that transmission has major internal damage and must be replaced or rebuilt. Thats a lot of metal in that pan.

My guess is converter and pump failure, I have seen that a few times, including my own, twice..

I'd contact a local dealer to see what they offer. Buying a reman'd trans from a site has waaaaaaaaaayyyy too many downfalls IMHO.

Who, what how are warranty issues handled? Shipping to & fro, who absorbs the labor costs, etc etc etc?

Thank you all. I guess i should have trusted Russ the 1st time. He was right. it is the Trans is a dead. Thank you all for replying. I did call a Local FORD dealer and some others. The best part is i found a AER RB from FORD for $2695.50 (series 7000 model) with FULL 3 yr/ Unlimited (WHAT A DEAL). FORD will install if for $850.00 and I also found a GREAT shop in Mckinney TX called RED RIVER AUTO 4 Wheel Drive, talked to Ryan and wife Misty they will install it for less than $600.00.

I get the truck back I HOPE tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your help on this topic

Happy New year
