Just bought a 2001 F-150 XLT Sport 4x2, 4.2L, manual trans., 16k miles. My first truck! It's beautiful! However, in these first three days, the shifter has "rotated" about 90 degrees (the 1-3-5 on the shifter *** now face the passenger door). I can't simply twist the *** back to the correct position (I've tried), so I think the whole shaft is rotating. Is this a prelude to disaster??
The insert in top of the **** is not glued in. It will vibrate and spin at times. ITs odd, but you have to push on it a certain way to get it to rotate back into place. You can't just push and turn, you kinda have to poke at it just right to get it to move.
