......Yeah it sounds like to much fuel , when you hold the pedal to the floor it shuts down the injectors so it will start , a couple things to check , pull the vacuum line of the fuel pressure regulater and see if there is any fuel in it , could be a stuck injector to , if you have a fuel pressure guage check the pressure , then see if the pressure bleeds off , it should hold good pressure for about 5 min then slowly bleed off , or after you shut the motor off pull the plugs and if you find a fuel wet plug thats the cylinder....hope this helps..
Edit:
lew52 beat me to the post but X2 ^ what he said.
Sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator.
Pull the vacuum hose off the nipple on top it and turn the key on and off with a cold engine.
If fuel comes out the nipple it is bad.
Check the vacuum line to your fuel pressure regulator. Many times, the diaphragm in the regulator bursts, and the vacuum line sucks fuel through it, which would explain your "flooding" condition.
It could also be an injector or two that sticks open, but start with the easy stuff first.
I went out and check the regulator it is not leaking check vacum didnt find any leaks has good vacum what else should I check please help this is my sons truck
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor located center front of engine, on thermostat housing.
It tells the PCM Computer the water Temperature and it has nothing to do with the gauge on the dash cluster.
Air Charge Temperature (ACT or IAT) Sensor located top center front of engine, near intake runner #6.
It tells the PCM Computer the air Temperature of the incoming air.
IAT (Intake Air Temperature) & ACT are the same device, they are called by both names.
I think the others are giving good advice .I would like to add one more thing to look at , The Idle Control Valve . I have seen two cause similar symptoms .Not normal , but possible . Clean it and see what happens .
